"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you."

~Friedrich Nietzsche

EDIT: This was really supposed to be a stamp about cyberbullying, but I guess it can still apply in the real world.

Yeah when I was getting bullied, the bully always posting stuff on her website on don't bully and watch this show about anti-bullying. It always got me so mad when I saw it because she's doing all this but she's actually one who's bullying people -_-

I used to be bullied, then I turned into a bully for a year but I realised it was wrong and apologised. This stamp... makes me feel sad.

It's very easy for the bullied to become the bully, but it's hard to admit the fault in doing so. Good for you. c:

No one in history ever got their rights by asking nicely and waiting around hoping for their abusers to change their minds. I sincerely hope you're not implying the civil war activists are "just as bad" as the people they were fighting against because this is the excuse that people who are okay with inequalities use.

"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster."

^That's the point. It's about not inflicting the same treatment or conditions on the other party that you fight against, and in this case, only as it would apply online in the realm of "cyberbullying." But if you simply must apply it to the freeing of slaves, here's how you can do that properly: The slaves are freed. They should not then seek to enslave their former owners.

Sorry, re-reading I see the cyberbully part. In that part, I absolutely agree.

However.

On the matter I compared to, no one's seeking to enslave anyone. However people can and do view any "impolite" suspicion from people of colour against whites as aggression. Malcolm X himself said "You cannot put a knife six inches in someone's back, pull it out three inches, and call it progress." Hope I don't actually have to debate that with you though.

Someones you have to give them as good as you got. If no one protects you, you have to protect yourself. If no one's going to do anything, no one has the right to tell the target how to behave in return.

Now if they it to levels like... that boy who planned to rape the girl who bullied him, that's an entirely different story. e_x

See, that's a different matter entirely. You're bringing the world outside of the Internet into this. When it comes down to human rights, the violator is always in the wrong, and the victim obviously has the right to fight back. I'm all for equality, and treating people the way you want them to treat you. In the same breath, you have to realize that prejudice is a two-way street. There's bigotry against Christians, there's sexism against men, and there is racism against whites. Anyone can be a victim of discrimination. I would hope that I don't have to argue with you on that one, either.

That, too, would be entirely different. Again, the boy would be seeking to violate that girl's rights, which takes it far outside the realm of the Internet. The most elementary way I can explain my point here is this: If you don't like being called a big stupid poopface online, don't go around the net calling people a big stupid poopface.
